Peter Holtappels
Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
Germany
Dr. Peter Holtappels, studied chemistry at the Rheinische Friedrich Wilhlems Univeristät in Bonn, Germany, and has specialised on high temperature, solid state electrochemistry. His doctoral thesis is on "electro catalysis on Ni- cermet electrodes" (1997). His current reserach interests are in Power2X technologies especially in the field of organic electrosynthesis. He will join KIT, Instutute for microprocess engineering from Sept 2022. Until August he joined the Department of Energy Conversion and Storage at the Technical University of Denmark ( DTU)., where he had different positions from Head of the Electrochemistry Programme in the Fuel Cells and Solid State Chemistry Divison at Risoe DTU in 2009 to a full professorship in electrochemical processes from April 2022 and head of the section Low Temperature Electrochemistry. Previously he was group leader for SOFC Materials R&D at Empa’s Laboratory for High Performance Ceramics from 2002 to 2009. Prior to this he worked as Scientist at the Technische Universität München, D, Dep. Physics E19 (2000-2002), Postdoc and TMR trained researcher at Risø National Laboratory, DK (1997-2000), and at Forschungszentrum Jülich (1993-1996) for his doctoral thesis.
