ZhengMing SUN, a National Distinguished Expert and Chair Professor at Southeast University, earned his PhD through a joint degree program between the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the University of Vienna. He first served as a Guest Researcher at the University of Vienna's Institute of Physical Chemistry, then joined Toyohashi University of Technology in Japan under the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) fellowship. In 1997, he joined the National Industrial Technology Research Institute, later reorganized into Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), where he rose to Senior Research Scientist and served as Associate to the Director of International Affairs. A sabbatical at Drexel University (USA) followed before joining Southeast University’s School of Materials Science & Engineering, where he was appointed Dean.
